The Meter Gauge section was from Vasco da Gama to Miraj, and the Broad Gauge lines were from Miraj to Hazrat Nizamuddin. In its initial stage, the numbers of the train were 2479 and 2480. Its maintenance was transformed from Delhi division to Hubli division, and it got 5 digit numbers after it became a Broad Gauge train entirely. Now, the South Western Railways operates the Goa Express.
