Jayaram Jayalalitha Biography, Life History and Death:
Jayalalitha was an Indian politician and former actor. As a politician, elected and appointed as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister for six terms between 1991 and 2016. Jayalalitha was first prominent as a leading actress in films in the middle of 1960’s. Between 1961 and 1980, she appeared in 140 films. She primarily acted in Tamil and then Telugu and Kannada Languages. She received praise, “Queen of Tamil Cinema” for her versatility in acting and for her dancing skills.

She entered politics with the help and immense popularity of M. G. Ramachandran, also known as MGR, a cultural icon in Tamil. When MGR was Chief Minister of Tamilnadu in 1982, Jayalalithaa joined AIADMK, the party founded by MGR. She rapidly raised in her political career and she became propaganda secretary of AIADMK in few years and elected to India’s Parliament Upper House, Rajya Sabha.
In 1987, she proclaimed herself as MGR’s political heir became the AIADMK sole leader after having fought with MGR’s widow, Janaki. She was the general secretary from 1989 of Dravidian Party, AIADMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam). She was respected as their Amma (mother), Thanga Tharagai (golden maiden) and Puratchi Thalaivi (revolutionary leader). In 1989 Election, she became opposition leader to Karunanidhi headed government, DMK.
Jayalalitha became CM Jayalalitha in 1991. She is the youngest Tamil Nadu’s, Chief Minister.

- Till September 2001, she became Chief Minister of Tamilnadu for 2nd
- From 2002, she continued as Tamilnadu Chief Minister till 2006.
- In 2011, she became Tamilnadu Chief Minister for the fourth time.
- Year 2014, she stepped down from Chief Minister Post after disproportionate assets case in Karnataka and in a corruption case.
- In 2015, she was elected as Tamilnadu Chief Minister for the 5th time by winning the case.

Jayalalitha, also known as Amma, was unmarried but has affairs with two actors Sobhan Babu and M.G.Ramachandran. Sobhan Babu was a Telugu Actor while M.G.R was a Tamil Actor.

As Jayalalithaa Amma was suffering from Dehydration and infection admitted in Chennai Apollo Hospitals on September 22nd, 2016. On October 12th, 2016, her official responsibilities and duties were handed over to Panneerselvam, though she continued to state Chief Minister.
She readmitted on Dec 4th 2016 to ICU after a cardiac arrest. The hospital announced her death on Dec 5th 2016.
