The Directorate of Estates is basically an office. Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MOHUA)of the Indian Government monitors. It is accountable for the management and administration of Office Accommodation/ Estates Residential of the Indian Government in metropolitan cities of India, namely, Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai and also five other towns/ cities which are Chandigarh, Shimla, Nagpur, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad.
Directorate of Estates opened, a modern and technologically advanced computerized information as well as facilitation center to facilitate the visitors. The center is in New Delhi, the capital of India, at Nirman Bhawan.
It has the responsibility of managing and administering the official buildings as well as residential accommodation of the Indian Government’s employees working in the different Indian cities.

What is e-Awas?
e-Awas is an excellent mobile application. NIC has launched this app for the Directorate of Estates, under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, with the intention of allotting government accommodations in GPRA. GPRA stands for General Pool Residential Accommodation. In total, 61317 residential apartments of several types are available in the state of Delhi. The Central Government Employees can reside in these residences via ASA (Automated System of Allotment). But to live there, they need to have a login id and password. This app will facilitate people who are on the waiting list. Any android phone user can operate this app. You can download here.
