Press Information Bureau is the only organization in the country to inform the media about government’s plans, policies and forthcoming programs. It came into existence during the pre-independence era in the year 1919. Its headquarters are in National Media Centre, New Delhi. PIB India has 8 regional offices and 34 branches throughout India. PIB also has an official website http://pib.nic.in.
It has also launched a Hindi version of this website for non-English speaking users. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB)regulates all its activities.
