The Jaisalmer Fort was under the control of many rulers like Rawal Jethsi, Alauddin Khalji, Rawal Lunakaran, Humayun, Maharawal Mulraj and Gaj Singh. After Independence Day and Partition of the Country, the primal route of trade is closed. This permanently removed Jaisalmer from the International Trade.
