About Telangana Kanti Velugu Pathakam

In order to eradicate the blindless free Telangana the state government of Telangana has launched a program on 15th Aug of 2018 on Independence Day known as “Telangana Kanti Velugu Pathakam” (తెలంగాణ కంటి వెలుగు పతకం). Around 30% to 40% of populations are estimated of suffering from eye diseases (or) eye disorders in Telangana State. In order to work for “Avoidable Blindless Free Telangana” (తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్రంలో సంపూర్ణ అంధత్వం నిర్ములన కోసం), the state government has decided to conduct a Universal eye screening for the eye diseases (or) eye disorders problems by covering the total districts of Telangana population in the next few months with the help of Kanti Velugu Project. It providing the Telangana Kanti Velugu Programme awareness videos in order to educate the Telangana State People

TS Kanti Velugu Pathakam Camp Authorities

The state guiding committee for the agitate is moderated by the State Health Secretary (IAS) along with the operation partners at the state level. The part of execution, monitoring and routine campaign planning all over the Telangana Districts are DM’s, District Collectors and HO’s. The CHFW Telangana is leading the agitate in partnership with the main partners of the following:

  • LVPEI (L V Prasad Eye Institute)
  • PVRI (Pushpagiri Vitreo Retina Institute)

The above TS Kanti Velugu Pathakam Camp Partners can explain briefly in the following:


Firstly, LVPEI stands for “L V Prasad Eye Institute” is the only eye institute in the TG State and AP State. Dr. Gullapalli N Rao is the founder of this eye institute. It is the first to undertake the project of TS Kanti Velugu Pathakam

Secondly, PVRI stands for “Pushpagiri Vitreo Retina Institute” is provide the eye care services with the quality management system. It is also one of the main partners in the project of TS Kanti Velugu Pathakam

Thirdly, SAKSHAM stands for “Samadrishti, Kshamata Vikas Evam Anusandhan Mandal” is the charitable national organization trust. It started the programme of Kanti Velugu in districts of Telangana State

Kanti Velugu Project Objectives

Kanti Velugu Program of Telangana is one of the services of eye care which are working all over the state for serving the total Telangana population people.

The following are the objectives of Kanti Velugu Project:

  • In order to provide spectacles for free
  • In order to conduct Eye screening test for all Telangana citizens
  • If the intervention has required then they provide referrals at tertiary and secondary hospitals
  • In order to maintain personal hygiene for preventing of serious disabling diseases regarding eyes
  • In order to provide medicines for general eye disorders for Telangana districts people
