Digital India Program:
The Digital India program is a prestigious event of the Government of India. Designed to transform India into a dynamic society of knowledge, transforming into a knowledge economy. Digital India is one of the active initiation taken by Hon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi among many schemes in India.
The e-governance in India has gained a broader focus in the mid-1990s for more classification applications, focusing special attention on civic services. The main ICT initiatives of the government, including inter alia, railway computing, land records computing etc. are some of the major projects focused primarily on information systems development. Subsequently, several states/union territories initiated various e-governance projects to provide different electronic services to the public.
Since e-governance projects work as a civic center, they can be limited to the effectiveness of the limited implications as they are limited features. On the one hand alone, fewer interaction systems revealed that major defects in the administration’s successful implementation of successful e-governance over the entire range. They have pointed out the need for a more comprehensive plan and implementation of the need for corrective infrastructure to settle the issues of interconnection problems, in order to establish a more affluent government.
Digital India Vision (Vision)
The Digital India Vision (Vision) is the transformation of India into a dynamic society and knowledge economy with a caption “Power to Empower”.
Digital India Vision Areas (Vision Areas)
The digital India program focuses on three key vision areas:
1. Digital infrastructure as a tool for every citizen:
All areas in the country are well connected with other areas. It is a prerequisite for a great service provider country. If villages in the most remote parts of India are digitally connected through broadband and high-speed internet, each citizen achieves realistic services, targeted social benefits and financial mixing in an electronic way. One of the key areas of vision for digital India is the “Digital infrastructure for every citizen is advantageous”.
The high-speed internet has been a key advantage to enable various services online to be a key part of this vision. It is planned to set up the infrastructure for digital identification and financial mixing. The general services centers are easily accessible for these. It has also been proposed to provide citizens with “digital lockers” which are private places that can be shared on the public cloud. Government departments and agencies have been able to easily access online documents. Cyberspace is also designed to be safe and secure.
1 High-speed Internet availability as a key tool for delivering services to every citizen
2 To get a standardized high-level digital identification online for every citizen with a unique, lifetime
3 Sharing the citizen with a mobile phone & bank account in the digital and financial field
4 Easy access to the Joint Service Center
5 Private sector sharing on public cloud
6 Safe, safe cyberspace.
2. Administration & Services on Demand:
Over the years, various state governments and central ministries carrying out large-scale programs to crack down on e-governance era. There are many levels of steady efforts to improve the delivery of public services and facilitate the process of receiving them. E-governance in India steadily evolving since the Government of Sri Lanka has implemented computerization for efforts to achieve sensitive issues in the administration of civic centralization, service revision, and transparency.
The National e-Governance Plan (NIGP) approved in 2006 with a view to consolidating e-governance ideas from all over the country with a clear view and integration into a common vision. Around this idea, a large scale countrywide infrastructure developed to reach the most remote village. A large number of records digitized to make easy, reliable access to the Internet. The ultimate intention to ensure that all public services reach the common man through common service delivery outlets, to ensure efficient, transparent, and reliable, cheap price to give the basic needs of the common man.
Six components are crucial to the administration and services on demand for all citizens and consumers in the country.
1 Extraordinary services across different branches and jurisdictions
2 Getting timely service from online and mobile platforms
3 Civilian traffic fully transmitted and available in the cloud
4 Digital Transforming Services to Improve Operations
5 Make financial transactions electronically, making cashless
6 Positively support geospatial information systems for sustainable support systems & development.
3. Digital Empowerment of Citizens:
Digital connectivity is a great tool. Despite the population and socio-economic conditions, the Indians are increasingly interacting with each other through mobile phones and computers, traveling through digital networks.
