Asian Paints History
The Asian Paints Corporation founded in the year 1942 by 4 friends Suryakant Dani, Champaklal Choksey, Arvind Vakil and Chimanlal Choksi. In Mimbai, they started the business in a small garage. During the Quit India Movement and World War II, a short-term ban was held on importing foreign company paints. Asian paints lead the market with 23 crores of annual turnover in the year 1952. Now they became the leading and largest paints manufacturing company in the country. In 2000 year, the Asian paints revamped its identity with the Asian Paint and later changed to ‘AP’ in a shorter form.
