15 October 2012 witnessed the union of two RRBs namely Bihar Kshetriya Gramin Bank and Samastipur Kshetriya Gramin Bank. As an outcome, BGB bank was formed under the Regional Rural Banks Act, 1976 in India. UCO Bank is the sponsoring bank of Bihar Gramin Bank. The head office of this RRB is located in Begusarai, Bihar State. Currently, their rural banking operations are limited to 9 districts of Bihar state. NABARD is the apex monitoring authority to keep an eye on the banking activities of BGB Bank.
