About Bhuvan and ISRO Services
Bhuvan is basically one application software that gives users the opportunity to explore the Earth’s surface in a 2D and 3D form. The browser has been created with the aim of viewing India from a whole new perspective in the highest resolution. The contents are provided in four regional languages. Besides visualising, it also provides support during natural disasters, the facility of downloading products and satellite data for free of cost. Bhuvan map has enriched by the crowdsourcing approach and by collecting data based on the point of interest. It also serves as a platform where government data is hosted. As opposed to other globe software, Bhuvan displays detailed imagery of locations in India. In current time, 177 cities use data of high resolution. The remaining parts of the country depend on the imagery of 2.5 resolutions. Locations can also view from unique perspectives. For measuring the distances, functionality will also be provided by the Bhuvan MGNREGA software.

Geo-portal Bhuvan of ISRO: a gateway to Earth observation in India
The Geoportal of ISRO has been providing visualisation facilities and data of Earth observation to its users. Apart from that, it also caters to the needs of many users who require a remote sensing application. A modest start has made by Bhuvan in the year 2009 with basic GIS functionality, simple representation of data received from satellite along with thematic maps. Since then, it has shown significant growth in several areas. At present, as many as 6000 Bhuvan map services used in several applications by users.
As a service, Bhuvan has open and suitable for used by different communities of users. This platform primarily used by the government agencies for sharing as well as hosting their data based on their needs, thereby allowing specific applications according to their preference. Apart from Telangana, some states that are making use of the smart platform of Bhuvan are of the following Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and some states in the North East. Manrega also functions as a place where satellite data has stored. These are efficiently used in scientific experiments and help researchers, organisations as well as students in their studies. In the past 3 years, the users have downloaded 3.6 lakh products. The popularity of NSRC as data archive has also increased by leaps and bounds. The National Information System for Climate and Environmental Studies or NICES studies ocean, land, and atmosphere and generates scientific products.
The beta version is unparalleled in offering detailed imagery. A crucial role has played by the National Remote Sensing Agency in this product’s development. To get the best quality of the image in India, ISRO makes use of the data it collects from satellites. These data include Cartosat-1, Resource sat-1 and Cartosat-2.
