The Government of India introduced a unique scheme named Central Government Health Scheme to give the maximum health care services to the common people in India. It came into existence in the year 1954. The primary objective of this CGHS scheme was to provide different facilities related to medical treatment to the employees who are working under Central Government. This scheme is beneficial for the central government employees. Not only the employees, but this scheme covers the safety of the family members of the employees also. It further provides services to the pensioners.

CGHS Branches

Different facilities under this CGHS scheme include OPD treatment where the medicines are also available in CGHS dispensary. They also organize consultation programmes through different polyclinics and government registered hospitals. They conduct regular investigations to maintain the quality of the service. The employees, who come under the beneficiaries of this scheme, get the full reimbursement of the total expanse in case of an emergency. They just have to submit the medical reimbursement form.
