Correction of Aadhar details offline and online
If you find any spelling mistakes, gender mistake, birth date error or any other informational error, you can update the Aadhaar card that has been given to you by the government in a hassle-free manner.

1. Correction of details online
There is an online portal where information written on the Aadhaar card can be updated by individuals. It is called the Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal. After logging in, you can request for a change in name, address, surname or whatever is incorrect. As a proof of what you want to be rectified, submit scanned copies of supporting documents, attested by yourself. Once you successfully submit what needs to be updated, a number will be provided to you. With the help of this number, you can easily track your request status. The good thing about updating online is that you will not be charged any money.

2. By visiting the Aadhaar enrolment center close to your home
If you intend to pay a visit to the enrolment center of Aadhaar in your city, both bio metrics and demographics can be updated by you. Don’t forget to carry documents (original) to the centre of enrolment for updating. You will be returned the documents after scanning. Any of the permanent centres for enrolment can be visited by you. The charge is very less. For each correction, they will charge you just Rs 25.
3. Requesting update via post
To update the details in your Aadhaar through the post, first, you have to take a print out of the form the internet. Fill up the form correctly. Don’t forget to fill up those areas that you want them to update. Also, don’t forget to give a working mobile number. Attach supporting documents, attested by yourself, that validate your claims and send it to the address provided below. On top of the envelope, write “Aadhaar Correction/ Update.”

UIDAI, Banjara Hills, Post Box No. 99, Hyderabad- 500034, India. No additional fees need to be paid for this process.
The way of assessing Aadhaar status
Any individual is free to apply for an Aadhaar number either online or offline based on his convenience. The process of applying for Aadhaar is straightforward and can be done quickly by an individual. There are multiple methods available by which one can know about the status of his application and thus access the Aadhaar program’s status. So, knowing about the status of your registration is not at all problematic. The most straightforward path is open to all which is through the Aadhaar’s internet portal designed by UIDAI for this purpose.
