About Jammu and Kashmir
Jammu and Kashmir State is one among the 29 states of India which is located on North side and is bordered with the Punjab which is located on the south and Himachal Pradesh which is also located on the south. History of Jammu and Kashmir
History reveals that the Maharaja of J& K was adamant on making Kashmir an independent country. After the valiant efforts of then home minister Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, Jammu and Kashmir was finally accepted as Indian Territory on 26 October 1947. Urdu is the official language spoken in all 22 districts of Jammu and Kashmir. Other languages spoken here are Hindi, Punjabi, Dongri, and Ladakhi.

Formation of Jammu and Kashmir State
Jammu and Kashmir is the Princely state (Indian State) of the British Empire of India and is ruled by the Jamwal Rajput Dogra Dynasty from 2846 to 1952. After Independence the state has became neutral to the countries of India and Pakistan as preferred by the ruler of the state Maharaja Hari Singh.
