Kumbhalgarh Fort – कुम्भलगढ़ फोर्ट – The Great Wall of India
Kumbhalgarh Fort (कुम्भलगढ़ फोर्ट) is situated in one of the Rajasthan Districts Rajsamand, India. It is a Mewar fortress on the westerly range of Aravalli hills near Udaipur. Kumbhalgarh fort is a world heritage site included in hill forts of Rajasthan State. It constructed by Rana Kumbha in the 15th century. Kumbhalgarh is a birthplace of the great ruler Maharana Pratap. It occupied until the late 19th century. After Chittaurgarh Fort, Kumbhalgarh fort is the main fort in Mewar.
Kumbhalgarh Fort stated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fort has longest wall complex in the world, 38 km long. Kumbhalgarh also separated Mewar and Marwar from each other. It is used as a place of refuge for the rulers of Mewar at times of danger. A notable instance was in the case of Prince Udai. He is the king of Mewar in 1535. Prince Udai was the founder of the Udaipur City.
