National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd (NTPC) is a Public Sector Undertaking in India, engaged in the business of Electricity generation & allied activities in India. User the Companies Act 1956, the NTPC company has incorporated by the Government of India in the year 1975. As per the Act 1956, it named as Government Company. The Headquarters of the NTPC located in New Delhi. The Core business of the NTPC is to generate the electricity to State Electricity Boards and state-owned power Distribution companies in India.

NTPS undertakes the turnkey projects and consultancy which involves in the project management, engineering, operation, management of power plants and construction management. It also ventured into coal mining, oil & gas exploration activities. India’s National Thermal Corporation is the largest power company which generates 53,651 MW of electricity. For every month, the NTPC produces 25 billion units of the electricity.
The Government of India holds the 64.74% of equity share from NTPC on 30/06/2016. NTPC ranked 400th number in the Forbes Global 2000 Rankings.
