Ministry of Panchayati Raj – पंचायती राज मंत्रालय
The Ministry of Panchayati Raj is a comparatively new ministry which has formed in 2004 in India. This ministry is a part of Indian Government. The objective of this ministry is to monitor the decentralization process, and it acts as a local government in the states.
This ministry solves all the issues raised in the Panchayati Raj and also in the Panchayati Raj Institutions in village level. The head of this ministry must be a cabinet minister. The MOPR depends on the elected members and also the PRI officials who can lead the development programmes in the rural areas. In recent times there are almost 3million elected members and staffs who need the training to work more efficiently as per the GPDP. The ministry is trying hard to develop the condition of the Panchayats through different workshops, seminars, and researches. To encourage the development of the Panchayats the Ministry has chosen a new technique. They have arranged an award for the best Panchayat as per the performance. It will encourage people to work hard.
e Panchayat System
The E-Panchayat system is a marvelous initiative by the government to empower the people of rural areas and to transform the common scenario there. The ministry has already formed a group of experts to initiate the process. They give training to the people along with the IT programmers through CPGrams. This process has begun in some of the states of our country which include West Bengal, Kerala, Gujarat, Karnataka, Goa and also Andhra Pradesh using BRGF.
The Ministry of Panchayati Raj aims to transform the old model of Panchayats and give it a new approach. The E-Panchayat system will be more transparent and useful along with Panchayat Darpan. It is a massive project as the total number of Panchayats in India is about 2.45 lakh.
