 Establishment:

TSPSC stands for Telangana State Public Service Commission. The youngest Public Service Commission of the country came into existence on 8th August 2014.

History:

One of the leading princely states of India, Hyderabad has more than 300 years of rich culture and tradition. Mir Mahboob Ali Pasha the VI Nizam (1869 – 1911) had laid down the process of selecting young talent for the public services.

The 1919 Firman laid the foundation for Hyderabad Civil Service Committee, and a Firman started Hyderabad Public Service Commission on 27/04/1947. The model was quite similar to the British Provincial Public Service Commission.

The Telangana state Public Service Commission has more than 150 years of rich history in selecting and recruiting the young talent. Telangana State Public Service Commission is on the drive of choosing and hiring the best young talent which can bring back the glorious past of Telangana state.

Services of Telangana State Public Service Commission

Selection of the most suitable candidates for myriad Government Posts is one of the most crucial functions of the Commission.

Critical statutory functions of the Commission

  • Direct Recruitment

The commission conducts recruitment’s for the public services and posts of various categories of Corporations, Local Bodies, PSUs and so on.  They carry recruitment’s according to the instructions and rules of the government. There are mainly two ways of conducting examinations – oral and written.

  • Approving statutory Rules associated with State and Subordinate Services

The Commission accepts and works according to the special, service and ad hoc rules suggested by Government.

  • Recruitment by Transfer / Promotion

Recruitment can also be made by transferring the candidate from ancillary service. Furthermore, promotions are known to be one of the useful tools to have suitable candidates.

  • Disciplinary Cases

The Commission provides suggestions to the Government on Disciplinary cases involving significant penalties.

  • State Government Employees’ departmental examination

The Commission organises Departmental Tests in May and November (twice a year)

  • Concurrence for Compassionate Appointments in Special Cases

By following the referral of government, the Commission proffers compassionate appointments in exceptional cases.

  • Half Yearly Exams

For Languages, Revenue and Law Subjects, the Commission organises half yearly exams for officers of All India service. The examinations are held in of September and March every year.
