The number of assembly constituencies in Karnataka is more than 225, and the number of parliamentary constituencies is 28. How to apply online to get a Voter ID card in Karnataka?
Any candidate can easily apply online in Karnataka for a Voter card from the official site that Karnataka’s Head Electoral Officer has provided for the convenience of the people.
Follow these steps for applying online to get a Voter ID in the state of Karnataka:
- At first, open the CEO Karnataka’s official website. For new users, on their homepage, they will ask you to register. They will ask you to enter your name along with your email id. After that, they will send the details of login to you through SMS.
- When you log in, select the option “Submit application” to get a new ID. They will request you to enter the details accurately in Form 6 for the inclusion of those in the electoral roll. These details in Form 6 that you need to fill are the birthplace, the name of your spouse, name of your parents, your current residential address, age and other details. All the documents required for the purpose and your photograph need to be submitted as well.
- After the completion of this, you can hit the “Submit” button, and they will give you one reference number. With the help of this number, inquiries can be made by you about your application for a new Voter ID. After the revival of your request, the BLOs or Booth Level Officers will go to your house, view the specifics, and after the acceptance of the application, they are going to send the Voter ID to your home.
How to apply offline to get a Voter ID card in Karnataka
- For applying of a Brand New Voter ID (or) to file of Application of Voter ID and you are not familiar For applying of a Brand New Voter ID with the online process then follow the below steps given:
- Initially visit the nearest Karnataka State Election Office and get Form 06, then you have to enter the required details of Your Name, Parents Name, Spouse Name, Birth Place, Residential Address along with other family members details who are already a member in the Electoral Roll.
- If you want to Include your name (or) want to make some modifications then you must submit the various forms.
The following are the form numbers and their usage:
- Form 06 – After the draft publication of an electoral roll this Form 06 is uses for making the application for addition of your name in an electoral roll.
- Form 07 – Form 07 is an Objection Application Form to include your name in an electoral roll.
- Form 08 – Form 08 is uses for Correction of the Application Form Details in an electoral roll.
- Form 08 (A) – Form 08 (A) is uses for process of an entry in an electoral roll.
Also, you should submit other required documents of Age Proof, Address Proof and your Photo along with form 06. After your application is submitted to Karnataka State Election Office it will be reviewed and the the BLOs or Booth Level Officers will go to your house, view the specifics, and after the acceptance of the application, they are going to send the Voter ID to your home.

Karnataka’s Election Commission was formed in 1993, in May, succeeding the 74th Constitutional amendment of India. If you fail to find your name, the path of online enrollment is open and the Voter ID card can be downloaded later.
