The majestic waterfalls in Telangana are well-known for its beauty and nature power. These waterfalls will never fail to impress by spilling tons of water over the edge or cascading around rocks. A waterfall need not be widest, tallest or most voluminous to make it a best travel destination. Here are some of the Telangana amazing waterfalls which you have to visit in season of monsoon.

  1. Manuguru Waterfalls near Khammam:

Manuguru Waterfalls or Manugar Waterfalls is located in a small town called Manuguru of Bhadradri Kothagudem district of Telangana State. It is situated on river banks of Godavari. It falls under the constituency of Mahaboobabad Parliamentary. The nearby places of Manuguru Waterfalls to visit are Medaram, Tadavi Forest Range and Warangal.

The Kanakai waterfalls, is also known as Kanakadurga waterfalls is situated near small village, Girnur of Bazarhatnoor Mandal. Near the waterfall, a Kanaka Durga Temple is also located. This waterfall cascades down at 30 ft height. A big pool is located at the bottom of the fall. The visitors get great experience by swimming at the falls. You will get a panoramic view when you climb up the falls. From Hyderabad, it is at a distance of 282 km. This is located on Kadem river in District of Adilabad and a must visit place in Telangana. It is a good trekking destination for trekking lovers. The nearby places to visit are Cheekati Gundam and Bandrev waterfall. All the three places can be visited together.

Gayatri waterfalls Adilabad is located at 270km distance from Hyderabad. It is one of the wonderful places located in Adilabad district of Telangana. It is a less prominent place situated on river, Kadem which is a Godavarai River’s tributary. In Telangana State, along with Kuntala falls and Pochera falls, Gayatri falls is another beautiful place to visit. It attracts many tourists in the season of Monsoon. This waterfall is also called as Mukti Gundam or Gadidha Gundam by the local people. It is located inside the deep forest area near village of Tarnam Khurd Village. This waterfall cascades down from 100ft height and creates a magnificent sight. The visitors can swim in the pool located at bottom of pool.

Bheemuni Paadam Waterfalls is located from 200 km distance from Hyderabad. It is a wonderful waterfalls situated at Gudur in Mahabubabad District of Telangana State. As a rock in form of Bheema’s footprint is present here, the waterfall is named as Bheemuni Paadam Waterfalls. The water shines in rainbow colours when the sun rises and sets which is an amazing sight. The water cascades down from 70 ft height and forms a pool at the bottom. A cave is located 10 kms away from the pool which is believed as another attractive place here. Monsoon time is the best place to visit this waterfall. It creates a picturesque view of a natural swimming pool.

Bogatha Waterfalls (Eturnagaram waterfalls) is located at 30 km distance from Eturnagaram, 140 km from Warangal, 120 km from Bhadrachalam and 200 km from Khammam. It is located near Chikupally village of Wajedu Mandal in the district of Jayashankar Bhupalpally district in Telangana State. It also called as Chikupally Waterfalls. It is located in forest region between Bhadrachalam and Kaleswaram. These waterfalls form Chikupally Vagu which joins Godavari River. It is the favourite spot of picnic for the people of nearby villages. It cascades from 30 ft height in parallel streams. This water is gathered at the pool which is at the bottom of the falls. Here, swimming is considered safe and a must visit waterfalls.

Pandavula Gutta in Warangal is located nearby the region of Bayyaram of Khammam District. Within 20 km from the start point of Khammam to Warangal Forest, there are 7 waterfalls in the region of Bayyaram forest. History says that the Pandavas had spent their “Agyathvas” period in this place and when they dug up these 7 wells, water came out and flowed like falls. This place has plenty of Medicinal and Ayurvedic plants.

It is located at a 58km distance from Srisailam and 173 km from Hyderabad. Mallela Theertham is a wonderful waterfall situated in the Nallamala forest. This is one of the famous tourist places. It is located near to Hyderabad to Srisailam highway and is a reliable place to visit while travelling to Srisailam. Water cascades down from 150 ft and directly falls on rock formations of Shiv Lingas. This water comes from a small stream which flows through the forest and merges in River Krishna. From the road point, around 380 steps need to be walked down to reach the falls. The Pool is closed on all sides by fencing. October to February is the best time to visit the falls.

It is located at 40 km distance from Nirmal, 257 km from Hyderabad, 50 kms from Adilabad and 22 kms from Kuntala Falls. It is situated at 10 kms distance from Neredikonda village between Adilabad and Nirmal. To visit Kuntala falls, monsoons and post monsoon are the best seasons. During Monsoon, it is not safe to get into the falls. There is a small stream at left of the main falls where visitors can play safe. Avoid visiting between Jan and July as you don’t find much water after January.

Kuntala waterfalls location is 12km away from Neredikonda, 58 km from Adilabad, 43 km from Nirmal and 260 km from Hyderabad. Kuntala Waterfalls is situated in the middle of Sahyadri mountain range near the village Neredikonda of Adilabad district. It is the highest waterfalls in the Telangana State with 200 ft height and one among the top tourist places in Telangana. It is formed by River Kadam and falls down through two steps from a rocky platform. From the entry point of waterfalls you must trek about 400 steps to reach the bottom of the falls which takes 10-15 minutes’ walk. According to the history, the waterfall got its name after Shakuntala, the beloved wife of King Dushyanth, the locals believe that Shakuntala used to take bath in this waterfalls.
