What is JNV?

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is actually an alternative education system for the gifted students. This institute is in New Delhi. An organization, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti runs the system. ANV autonomy organization listed under the Department of School Education AND Literacy under the Ministry of Human Resource Development.  This system or the schools are co-educational and residential institutes.

The school system is affiliated to CBSE or the Central Board of Education. This school generic option for talented and gifted students who come from the rural areas of India. Dedicated to providing the educational equivalent to all the students regardless whatever socio-economic background they belong from. JNV has designed for class VI to class XII. JNV organization tasked especially find talented students from different areas of India.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya has their branches in all over India excluding Tamil Nadu. As per a survey of the year 2015 to 2016, there are nearly 598 Navodaya schools in India. All the schools run by equal infrastructure, education method, and policy.

JNV not a new concept in India but also was established in the year 1986. This idea was conceived by Rajiv Gandhi, the former Prime minister of India. The Samiti is registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. According to the act, there should be one JV at every district in India. They started by establishing JNV in Amravati of Maharashtra and Jhajjar of Haryana.   In the year of 2015-16 the Indian Govt. sanctioned to establish the Navodaya School in 576 districts of India. Ten sanctioned for the largest district with more ST population.  That means the Govt. has sectioned for a total of 598 JNVs and 591 are functional among them.
